I was born and raised in Manitoba which, regardless of where I go, will forever hold a special place in my heart; my love of the natural world is rooted in prairie sunsets, summer thunderstorms, northern lights, and many camping adventures I took as a child.
I completed both my undergraduate and M.Sc. degrees the University of Winnipeg, studying bat behaviour and hibernation energetics. I moved to Quebec to pursue a Ph.D. at McGill studying winter behaviour and energy use of squirrels, snowshoe hares and lynx in the Yukon. In addition to working on my thesis, I enjoy making science accessible and relevant to the public through a variety of outreach activities. When I am not busy with science, I love being outside, playing sports, exploring new music, and spending time with family and friends. |
